Judith le Maire

Judith le Maire serves as Vice Rector for International Relations and Development Cooperation at Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), affiliated with the Faculty of Architecture La Cambre Horta where she previously held the role of Vice Dean from 2016 to 2018.

Education: She earned her doctorate in Art History from the University of Paris I La Sorbonne.

Research Interests: Her scholarship centers on Architecture and Urban Planning, specializing in the History of Contemporary Architecture. She pioneered research on participatory design frameworks (1904-1969) and examines urban visual identity through spatial analysis, with significant contributions to metropolitan infrastructure studies via the MICMARC project.

Scientific Awards:

• Prize by the French Academy of Architecture for doctoral thesis

Advising and Research Leadership: She directs doctoral training in architectural spatialization methodologies and contemporary theory instruction. Her research coordination includes the MICMARC project analyzing mobility networks and metropolitan identity formation, reflecting her interdisciplinary approach to urban studies.
