Joshua Makower is The Yock Family Professor of Medicine and Bioengineering at Stanford University, where he co-founded the Stanford Byers Center for Biodesign 20 years ago. As Director of the Center, he developed the Biodesign Process, a globally adopted framework for medical innovation. He is also a serial entrepreneur, having founded ExploraMed, a medical device incubator that has spun out 10 companies including NeoTract (acquired by Teleflex) and Acclarent (acquired by Johnson & Johnson).
