Joshua Hobson is a Lecturer in the Art Department at Eastern Washington University (EWU) and serves as the Director of the EWU Gallery of Art. He holds a BFA in Creative Photography from the University of Florida (2007) and an MFA (2017). His work focuses on lens-based art, including photography, digital imaging, and socially engaged art practices. Hobson has exhibited widely, with notable shows at Candela Books, the Colorado Center for Photographic Art, and the Center for Fine Art Photography. In 2013, he collaborated with United Planet and Photographers Without Borders to document development projects in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. His permanent public artwork Continua: Visualizing Universal Scale (2015) is installed at the University of Florida’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute. A 2020 solo exhibition, Waveforms: On Rising and Falling, was held at the EWU Gallery of Art.
