Josh Simer

Josh Simer is Clinical Assistant Professor of Accountancy at the University of Mississippi's Patterson School of Accountancy. He joined the faculty in 2022 following positions at the University of Central Arkansas.

Education: Ph.D. in Accounting (University of Mississippi), M.B.A. and B.B.A. (Tennessee Tech University)

Research examines taxpayer decision-making, tax professional behavior, tax policy implications, and historical developments in taxation. Specific interests include behavioral aspects of tax compliance and equity implications of tax regulations.

Publications analyze historical contributions to tax education, equity in self-employed healthcare deductions, and behavioral responses to tax policy complexity.
