Cole J. Engel

Cole J. Engel is a Professor of Accounting at the Department of Economics, Finance & Accounting, Fort Hays State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from Northcentral University (2016), an M.B.A. (2009), and two B.B.A. degrees in Accounting and Computer Information Systems from Fort Hays State University (2007). His research focuses on Financial Accounting, Information Systems, Taxation, and the impact of online education on accounting profession employment.

Dr. Engel has published extensively on tax-related topics, including legal settlements, rental real estate, and student loan deductions, as well as studies on online degree acceptability in accounting careers. He advises the Alpha Kappa Psi professional business fraternity and teaches courses ranging from Principles of Accounting to CPA Problems.
