Joseph Corkin

Dr Joseph Corkin is a Senior Lecturer in Law at Middlesex University's Faculty of Business and Law, Department of Law and Social Sciences. He holds a PhD from the European University Institute and an LLB from University College London and Cologne University. His research focuses on constitutionalism, European integration, and regulatory governance, particularly exploring lawmaking outside traditional constitutional structures. He has conducted significant research for the European Commission and co-led an AHRC-funded project on transnational governance networks with the University of Bristol.

Teaching responsibilities include leading the Legal Method module and co-leading EU Law and EU Internal Market Law. He supervises PhD students and has contributed to over 15 scholarly works since 2006, addressing topics like judicial accountability, networked governance, and EU institutional dynamics. His work bridges constitutional theory with practical policy analysis, emphasizing the role of expert communities in shaping transnational regulations.

Corkin's research outputs reflect deep engagement with EU legal frameworks, regulatory networks, and the interplay between public policy and corporate responsibility.
