Joséf Pacewicz is a Lecturer in Saxophone and E flat Clarinet at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He has held a 38-year tenure with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) as Associate Principal Clarinet and Principal E flat Clarinet until 2017, after which he transitioned to a freelance career. His performance experience includes collaborations with major British orchestras such as the London Symphony, Philharmonia, and BBC Orchestras.
Education: Studied clarinet and saxophone at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Professional Beginnings: Co-founded the Myhra Saxophone Quartet in 1976 with John Harle, Andy Findon, and David Roach during their time as ushers at the World Saxophone Congress at the Royal College of Music.
Artistic Highlights: Solo performances with the RSNO in Saxophone Rhapsodie and with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra in Peter Maxwell Davies’ Strathclyde Concerto No.6. Teaching: Joined the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland faculty in 1985, focusing on woodwind instruction.
