Jordan Snyder

Dr. Jordan Snyder is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, Professional Counseling, and Neuroscience at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. A licensed clinical psychologist, her research focuses on clinical-community psychology and global mental health interventions, particularly for forced migrants and populations affected by conflict.

She earned her Psy.D. from Wheaton College (2019), completed a post-doctoral fellowship at UCSD/San Diego VA Healthcare System, and holds an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College and a B.S. in Biology.

Research Focus: Her work examines serious mental illness in low-resource settings, mental health implications of conflict, and community-based interventions for refugees. She co-founded the Working Alongside Refugees in Mental Health (WARM) project and researches intergenerational trauma transmission in post-genocide Rwanda.

Publication Trends: Research consistently addresses trauma recovery in conflict zones, refugee mental health service delivery, and culturally-sensitive intervention models. Recent work explores pandemic-related mental health impacts and ethical considerations in transcultural care.
