Jonathan Smith

Professor Jonathan Smith is a faculty member at Coastal Carolina University in the College of Humanities, where he serves as Director of the Center for Applied Intelligence. He teaches courses on intelligence, homeland security, and national security strategy since joining the university in 2011. His academic expertise is rooted in political science and national security decision-making.

Additionally, he served 23 years in the U.S. Navy Reserve as an intelligence officer, including command roles supporting U.S. Southern Command in Miami and deployments to Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
