Jonathan Allen

Dr. Jonathan Allen is an Adjunct Professor in exercise science and former assistant professor at Union University, where he has been affiliated since 2012. He currently serves as head athletic trainer for the university’s 11 varsity sports and as program director for the undergraduate athletic training program.

• PhD in Health Sciences (2024) from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions
• MA in Sport Administration (2006) from Ball State University
• BS in Athletic Training (2003) from Ball State University

His research interests align with his clinical and administrative roles, focusing on athletic training, exercise science, and rehabilitation services. Dr. Allen has extensive experience in both academic and clinical settings, including directorship roles at Fayette Regional Health System (2009–2012) and leadership positions in Union University’s athletic training programs.

Dr. Allen is certified through the Board of Certification as an Athletic Trainer since 2005. He is married to Crystal Allen and has seven children.
