John Tranter is an Instructor of Low Brass at the University of Minnesota since Spring 2003 and an active freelance musician in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area. He performs with renowned ensembles including the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Minnesota Opera, JazzMN Big Band, and Sheldon Theatre Brass Band.
His academic credentials include a Master of Music in Trombone Performance from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Music in Trombone Performance (minor in euphonium) from the University of Kansas.
