Jody Guinn is an Adjunct Professor with affiliations to multiple institutions including Baldwin Wallace University, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland Institute of Music, Cleveland State University, and Malone University. She serves as Principal Harp of the Akron Symphony Orchestra and Second Harp with The Cleveland Orchestra. Her career spans over three decades of orchestral performance, including roles with the Cleveland Opera, Cleveland Ballet, and Ohio Chamber Orchestra. Guinn is a founding member of the Salzedo Harp Duo with Nancy Lendrim, renowned for their CD 'Short Stories' and performances at major national and international harp conferences.
Education: MM in Harp Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music, studying under Alice Chalifoux. Additional training included summer programs at the Salzedo School in Camden, Maine.
Research interests focus on harp pedagogy and performance, with a specialization in classical repertoire. Her professional engagements have included notable performances at the American Harp Society National Conference and the World Harp Congress in Amsterdam. She has also contributed recordings for CBS's 'The Young and the Restless.'
Teaching activities include private harp instruction and ensemble coaching across multiple academic institutions, emphasizing both technical mastery and artistic expression in music education.
