Loren Toplitz is a faculty member at the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM) since 2002, teaching in the Preparatory and Continuing Education Division, and also serves as a trumpet instructor at Case Western Reserve University. He holds a Bachelor of Music from The Juilliard School and a Master of Music from CIM, having studied under prominent teachers including Michael Sachs and Philip Smith.
His performance career spans over two decades with major orchestras such as The Cleveland Orchestra, Buffalo Philharmonic, and Cleveland Pops, alongside collaborations with artists like Kenny Loggins and Martina McBride. He currently holds principal trumpet roles in the Firelands Symphony and Akron Symphony Orchestra, and has performed at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall.
Active in music festivals, Toplitz participates in the National Repertory Orchestra, Aspen Music Festival, and Baldwin-Wallace Bach Festival. His teaching extends to the International Music Festival at Baldwin Wallace University, emphasizing brass pedagogy and ensemble performance.
