Jessica Simon

Jessica Simon, MSW, is an Adjunct Professor at the Gillings School of Global Public Health, UNC-Chapel Hill, where she teaches PUBH 718: Systems and Design Thinking for Public Health Leaders. She concurrently serves as a Senior Program Manager on the Health Systems Transformation team at the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs (AMCHP) in Washington, DC, focusing on systems thinking applications for maternal and child health workforce development. She also manages the systems integration core for the Maternal and Child Health Workforce Development Center.

Her expertise spans behavioral health systems, health policy, housing insecurity, and intimate partner violence. Her research addresses systemic barriers in maternal and child health, family homelessness, and evidence-based policy implementation. Simon holds a Master of Social Work (Social and Economic Development) and a System Dynamics certificate from Washington University in St. Louis.

Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, system dynamics modeling, and harm reduction strategies to improve public health outcomes. Technical assistance provided to strengthen maternal/child health systems and policy dissemination are central to her professional contributions.
