Frankfurt School of Finance and ManagementAbout
Jens Witkowski is an Associate Professor of Computer Science and Management at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. His research focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence, game theory, and economics, particularly in designing incentive-compatible systems for information elicitation and forecasting. Before joining Frankfurt School in 2018, he held postdoctoral roles at ETH Zurich, the University of Pennsylvania (Good Judgment Project), and Harvard University. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg (2014) and a Master’s from the same institution (2009).
His work emphasizes the development of mechanisms for aggregating crowd-sourced information, forecasting competitions, and fair division algorithms. Notable contributions include studies on incremental belief updating in forecasting accuracy and geometric approaches to peer prediction systems. Witkowski has published extensively in top venues like Management Science, ACM Transactions on Economics and Computation, and AAAI conferences. He currently serves on the editorial board of the International Journal of Forecasting and organizes workshops on forecasting and data economics.
Key professional milestones include receiving tenure at Frankfurt School (2023) and co-organizing the 2024 DIMACS Workshop on Forecasting. His research bridges theoretical computer science with practical applications in decision-making systems, emphasizing both algorithmic rigor and real-world impact.
