Jennifer Berg

Jennifer Berg is Clinical Professor and Department Chair of Nutrition and Food Studies at NYU Steinhardt. As director of the Graduate Program in Food Studies, her research examines the intersection of food, culture, and identity with focus on Jewish American foodways. Her work documents the evolution of New York's iconic Jewish foods and their cultural significance.

Publications analyze Jewish contributions to American food culture and historical development of immigrant food traditions. Professional service includes treasurer for the Association for the Study of Food and Society and advisory roles for culinary education programs.
