Jennifer Bannister

Jennifer Bannister, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Gupta College of Business, University of Dallas. Her research focuses on international accounting standards, capital markets behavior toward foreign firms, and investor sentiment. Prior to academia, she worked as an international tax accountant and established accounting procedures for a startup oil and gas company.

Her teaching philosophy emphasizes understanding accounting's societal role and its relevance across professions. Notable research includes analyzing US market reactions to foreign firms and studying student satisfaction in online learning environments.

Her work spans interdisciplinary topics like cross-border investment dynamics and regulatory compliance in financial reporting. Outside academia, she and her family care for 20–30 animals at a time, rescuing unwanted pets and wildlife.
