Matthew Erickson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting and Information Systems at Virginia Tech's Pamplin College of Business. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona (2023), an M.S. and B.S. from Texas A&M University. His research focuses on tax-policy interactions with capital markets, multinational tax competition, valuation frameworks, and tax decision-making dynamics. Current research includes studies on dividend policy-tax rate linkages, foreign cash holdings' credit risk implications, and investor decision-making under tax regimes.
He has received grants from the Charles Koch Foundation and the University of Arizona. Erickson teaches courses in accounting research, technology applications for accountants, and federal taxation.
