Jean Xhonneux

Jean Xhonneux is a Tuba lecturer at LUCA School of Arts and IMEP in Namur, Belgium. He serves as a guest soloist with prestigious orchestras including the Brussels Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln, and Orchestre des Champs Elysées. A member of the Eburon Quintet, he has received multiple awards in solo and chamber music competitions. His teaching spans tuba performance and music education.

Education: Studied at the Conservatoire Maastricht.

Research Interests: Focuses on tuba performance techniques, orchestral collaborations, and chamber music pedagogy. Engages with classical repertoire interpretation and wind instrument pedagogy.

Advising & Performance: Active in mentoring students through tuba instruction at LUCA and IMEP. Collaborates with orchestras across Europe, emphasizing Brahms' sonata repertoire as seen in events like De sonates van Brahms – een levenslange dialoog.

Ensembles: Performs with the Eburon Quintet and regularly participates in high-profile orchestral projects.
