Jean Lee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at Western Washington University, within the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. She specializes in Caribbean and Asian American literature, with a focus on Indo-Caribbean and Black feminisms. Her research examines how women's identities are shaped by diaspora, migration, and competing loyalties. She has taught courses on Black feminism, queer Caribbean studies, postcolonial literature, and theories of water in Black diasporic literatures.
Her academic work bridges literary analysis with critical race theory, exploring themes such as transnational identity, migration, and intersectional feminism. She holds a PhD and has a strong commitment to interdisciplinary scholarship.
