Jayamini Ranaweera is a Lecturer in Performance Analysis at St Mary's University since October 2022. Previously, he worked as a data scientist at Bath Rugby and held roles in manufacturing as a research and innovation manager, focusing on product development, wearable technology, automation, and digitalization in apparel manufacturing. He holds a PhD in Sport Informatics from Leeds Beckett University (2023), alongside an MSc in Electronics and Automation, BEng (Hons) in Electronic Engineering, and BSc in Applied Sciences. He is a Chartered Engineer in the UK and Australia, a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (Advance HE).
His teaching areas include sport data analysis, professional projects, research methods, and the role of the analyst. Research interests span sports informatics, sports analytics, wearable technology, decision-making processes, and process improvement in sports systems.
