Jason Robinson is an Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator of Special Education at Florida Gulf Coast University's College of Education, within the Department of Teacher Education and Learning Sciences (TELS). He holds a Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of Northern Colorado, an M.S. in Educational Leadership from Wilkes University, and a B.S. in Unified Elementary/Special Education from Juniata College.
His research focuses on effective teacher preparation, self-determination, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and strengthening school-family partnerships to empower educators supporting students with special needs. He has secured significant grants, including:
- Co-Principal on the $2.37M RISE-funded project 'Building Inclusive and Resilient Communities for Young Children and Their Families.'
- Co-Principal and Practicum Supervisor on the $1.19M federal grant 'Culturally Competent Applied Behavior Analytic Scholars (CABAS) in Special Education and School Psychology.'
Dr. Robinson teaches courses such as EEX 4201 (Young Children with Special Needs), EEX 4604 (Behavior Management), and EDF 4470 (Classroom Assessment). He actively engages in professional conferences, including the Division on Autism and Developmental Disabilities Conference and the Association for Behavior Analysis International Conference.
