Jason R.C. Nurse

Jason R.C. Nurse is a Reader in Cyber Security at the University of Kent, Director of Science and Research at CybSafe, Visiting Fellow in Defence and Security at Cranfield University, and Senior Research Fellow at Royal United Services Institute (RUSI). His interdisciplinary research spans cyber security, privacy, and trust, integrating insights from computing, psychology, and computational social science.

Research Interests: Nurse’s work examines how emerging technologies affect cyber security and privacy. He leads initiatives on risk management, human cyber risk, security awareness, and behavioral cybersecurity, contributing to debates on cyber insurance, ransomware harms, and domestic abuse via digital means.

Publications and Collaborations: His recent work includes studies on human risk management, patching strategies, and cyber insurance, published in venues like Journal of Cybersecurity, ACM Digital Threats, and Computers & Security. He collaborates with institutions including the University of Oxford, CybSafe, and RUSI.
