Jason Newman, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He serves as Medical Director of the William T. and Gay F. Solomon General Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Clinic, treating patients of all ages. Dr. Newman completed his bachelor's degree in biology (cum laude) at Trinity University and earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He completed a combined internal medicine and pediatrics residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
His research focuses on safety and quality improvement in ambulatory care settings. He is a mentor in the UT Southwestern Academic Colleges and holds certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Dr. Newman is actively involved in professional organizations, including the Society of General Internal Medicine.
He has received notable awards such as the UT Southwestern Internal Medicine Clerkship Teaching Award. Outside medicine, he enjoys family time, running, camping, and volunteering with Cub Scouts and Scouts.
