Jane Tucker

Jane Tucker is a CAT Ballet Tutor & Co-ordinator at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD), where she oversees ballet curriculum development and teaches within the CAT programme. She holds a Distinction in the Royal Academy of Dance's Professional Dancers Teaching Diploma. With over two decades of professional experience, Jane has performed with Hong Kong Ballet and Northern Ballet Theatre, touring globally, and has premiered in works such as The Last Emperor and A Streetcar Named Desire.

Her career spans teaching roles at institutions including Elmhurst School for Dance, Northern Ballet Academy, and the Royal Academy of Dance, alongside guest teaching in Australia, Italy, and the UK. Jane has contributed to projects like producing Sleeping Beauty as a ballet mistress and teaching classical ballet for contemporary companies such as Darkin Ensemble. She currently serves as an external examiner for the RAD’s Professional Dancers Teaching Diploma and integrates dance education into primary schools through creative storytelling.

Her expertise lies in ballet pedagogy, contemporary dance techniques, and interdisciplinary approaches to movement. Jane’s work emphasizes bridging professional performance with educational practice, reflected in her contributions to programs like the North West Dance Centre for Advanced Training and her international collaborations.
