Jack Davis

Jack Davis is Lecturer in the Department of Strategy, Enterprise and Sustainability at Manchester Metropolitan University. His research examines social sustainability through care relations in online communities, employing interdisciplinary approaches from feminist ethics of care and anarchist theory.

Education includes a PhD from University of Liverpool Management School (2023) focusing on cultural politics of consumption and care. Current research investigates conviviality and mutual aid in digital communities as forms of sustainable social organization.

Publications analyze cultural dimensions of sustainability, including digital burnout in creative industries and alternative consumer cultures emerging through mutual aid platforms. Co-organized the Ekstasis Collective creating spaces for critical management discussions and serves on organizing committee for 2025 Critical Management Studies conference.

Research group affiliations include Socio-ecological Leadership, Organisation and Work (SLOW), hosting symposia on sustainable organizational practices.
