Isabel Charisius serves as Professor at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts within the School of Music and Institute for Classical and Church Music. A preeminent violist, she was a core member of the Alban Berg Quartet and held principal positions with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, and Munich Philharmonic, performing globally at venues including Vienna Konzerthaus, Royal Festival Hall London, and Théâtre des Champs-Élysées Paris.
Her research focuses on viola performance techniques, chamber music interpretation, and the project "Agency and Identity in Music." She specializes in developing young ensembles through intensive coaching, emphasizing artistic identity formation within collaborative frameworks.
