Ina Dimitrova is a Professor of Violin at the Lucerne School of Music (HSLU), part of Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Born into a musical family in Bulgaria and raised in Portugal and Switzerland, she holds a Solistendiplom from HSLU (2000) under Prof. Edith Peinemann, graduating with 'highest distinction'. Her pedagogical training included studies with renowned mentors like Yfrah Neaman and Franco Gulli.
Her research interests center on violin performance, chamber music, and Baroque repertoire. She has performed globally with orchestras such as the WDR Orchestra Cologne and the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, notably under conductors like Sir Neville Marriner. Highlights include performances of Barber’s Violin Concerto and Ravel’s 'Tzigane'.
Award-winning artist, Dimitrova is a member of the Goldberg Trio Lucerne and previously served as concertmaster of the Festival Strings Lucerne. She performs on a rare 1676 G.B. Rogeri violin. Her teaching career began in 2001 at HSLU, complementing her active performance schedule.
