Helen Mersereau

Helen Mersereau is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Health Sciences at Cape Breton University (CBU), located in Mi’kma’ki. She holds a BSc from Queen’s University and an MHSc from the University of Toronto. Her professional experience spans roles at Syncrude Canada, General Electric, Nova Scotia Power, and the QEII Hospital. She teaches in the BHSc Public Health program and the post-baccalaureate Occupational Health and Safety Management diploma.

Her research expertise includes risk communication, occupational hygiene, health risk assessment, and occupational health and safety, with published work on Health Risk and Radon. She holds professional certifications: CRSP (Certified Safety Professional), ROH (Registered Occupational Hygienist), and CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist).
