Helen Kay

Dr Helen Kay is a Senior Lecturer in Academic Development and Inclusivity at Sheffield Hallam University, with over 30 years of experience in pedagogic innovation, curriculum design, and institutional research. Her work focuses on inclusive teaching practices, equality and diversity policy, and widening participation strategies. She holds a PhD in Chemical Metallurgy from Sheffield City Polytechnic (1996) and a first degree in Geology from Oxford Polytechnic.

Her research interests span culturally sensitive curricula, disability inclusion in higher education, and student engagement. She has played a pivotal role in shaping equality policies at Sheffield Hallam and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
