Heidi Stoner

Heidi Stoner is a Lecturer in Early Medieval Archaeology at Canterbury Christ Church University, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses including Introduction to Archaeology (Level 4), Archaeology of the Late Antique and Early Medieval World (Level 4), and Early Medieval Britain and Ireland (Level 6). She contributes to Medieval and Early Modern Studies modules across BA and MA programs through team teaching and cross-validated modules.

Her research centers on Early Medieval Archaeology with specialized expertise in Stone Sculpture and Historiography, focusing on material culture and methodological approaches within Early Medieval Britain, Ireland, and the Late Antique transition period. She actively explores interdisciplinary connections between archaeological evidence and historical narratives.

Dr Stoner supervises undergraduate dissertations, master's theses, and PhD candidates, welcoming research proposals on Early Medieval Art and Archaeology, Stone Sculpture analysis, and Historiographic methodologies. She coordinates academic projects including the Level 6 Independent Study and Extended Essay components.
