Heidi Chio

Heidi Chio, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice & Criminology at Saint Martin's University, located on the Main Campus in Lacey. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati (2022), with a dissertation focusing on gender dynamics in antitrust offenses and white-collar crime. Her research emphasizes intersections of gender, race, and socioeconomic factors in criminology.

Her work explores evolving patterns of white-collar crime, including the role of women in workforce-related offenses and systemic inequalities in middle-class criminality. Associated with the Criminology and Criminal Justice program, her scholarship bridges theoretical frameworks with contemporary social issues.
