Harold Dawson is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Cincinnati. He holds Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Sociology and a Master's degree in Sociology from Marshall University, where he focused on applying critical social theories to Hollywood disaster films. Currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Cincinnati, his dissertation explores televised news' visual reproduction of disaster.
Research Interests: His work examines media representations, popular culture dynamics, social movement formation, theoretical frameworks in sociology, and systems of social stratification. He has presented research at the North Central Sociological Association and investigates how visual media shapes public perceptions of societal events.
