Halvor Mehlum is a Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Oslo, specializing in macroeconomics, development economics, economics of conflict, and crime. He has held academic positions since 1994, including Research Fellow (1994–1998), Researcher at the Frisch Centre (1999–2002), and Associate Professor (2002–2006) before becoming a full Professor in 2006. He also serves as Deputy Head of the Department of Economics (2016–present) and Deputy Leader of the Centre of Equality, Social Organization, and Performance (ESOP).
