Gregory Offer

Professor Gregory Offer is a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London, specializing in Electrochemical Engineering. His research focuses on battery, fuel cell, and supercapacitor technologies, particularly their application in transport systems. He leads the Electrochemical Science and Engineering group, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration to address complex energy storage challenges. His work bridges fundamental science and engineering, with a strong emphasis on thermal management and degradation mechanisms in lithium-ion batteries.

Greg obtained his PhD at Imperial College London (2006) under Prof Anthony Kucernak, later working with Prof Nigel Brandon on fuel cell technologies. His entrepreneurial ventures include multiple spin-outs such as Cognition Energy Ltd and Breathe Battery Technologies Ltd, and co-founding the Future Propulsion Conference (FPC).

He is Principal Investigator of the Faraday Institution’s Multi-Scale Modelling project, driving innovation in battery design and lifecycle optimization.
