Gerald Jaski is a Teaching Professor in Entertainment Arts at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where he has served since Fall 2018. He currently holds the role of Acting Associate Chair. Additionally, he has held academic roles including Theater Faculty at Peddie School (2013–2018), Graduate Student Lecturer at Columbia University (2011), and Guest Director/Visiting Alumnus at Florida State University (Fall 2017).
Dr. Jaski holds an M.F.A. in Theatre Arts with a focus on Dramaturgy/Script Development from Columbia University and a B.M. in Music Theatre-Music from Florida State University.
His research and professional interests center on dramaturgy, script development, and the intersection of theatrical performance with musical and commercial production. He has contributed significantly to the field through his work in musical theater, including roles as a dramaturgical consultant and co-creator of productions such as Gershwin's Greatest Hits and Bernstein's Broadway. His academic focus also extends to educational practices in theater, emphasizing mentorship and the application of dramaturgical principles in higher education settings.
