Gerald Jaski

Gerald Jaski is a Teaching Professor in Entertainment Arts at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where he has served since Fall 2018. He currently holds the role of Acting Associate Chair. Additionally, he has held academic roles including Theater Faculty at Peddie School (2013–2018), Graduate Student Lecturer at Columbia University (2011), and Guest Director/Visiting Alumnus at Florida State University (Fall 2017).

Dr. Jaski holds an M.F.A. in Theatre Arts with a focus on Dramaturgy/Script Development from Columbia University and a B.M. in Music Theatre-Music from Florida State University.

His research and professional interests center on dramaturgy, script development, and the intersection of theatrical performance with musical and commercial production. He has contributed significantly to the field through his work in musical theater, including roles as a dramaturgical consultant and co-creator of productions such as Gershwin's Greatest Hits and Bernstein's Broadway. His academic focus also extends to educational practices in theater, emphasizing mentorship and the application of dramaturgical principles in higher education settings.

In advising and professional mentorship, Jaski has served as a Professional Dramaturgy Mentor and on the Selection Advisory Panel for the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center since 2017, alongside previous terms from 2012 to 2015. His work also includes co-producing Florida State University’s 2004 B.F.A. Alumni Spotlight and roles in production coordination at Trinity Repertory Company (2002–2004). His professional engagements span actor roles in productions like Children and Art (2005) and Nine to Five (2007–2008), alongside director/choreographer credits for works such as Bernstein's Broadway (2007) and Gershwin's Greatest Hits (2008).

Jaski is an active member of professional organizations including Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas, the Association for Theatre in Higher Education, and Actors' Equity Association, reflecting his commitment to collaborative networks in theater education and production.
