Georgios Raptis

Georgios Raptis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He previously held academic positions at the University of Regensburg, including roles as Assistant Professor (2020-2024), Lecturer (2014-2020), and Post Doctoral Researcher (2009-2014).

His research focuses on Algebraic and Geometric Topology, Homotopical Algebra, Algebraic K-Theory, and Category Theory. His work explores connections between homotopy theory, cobordism categories, and bounded cohomology, with recent preprints examining scissors congruence K-theory and Serre spectral sequences.

Selected publications highlight his contributions to ∞-categories, stable homotopy, and manifold invariants. He has supervised numerous PhD and Master’s students, including Nikita Müller and Fernando Yamauti.
