George Raptis is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He holds a PhD from the University of Oxford (2009), following M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees from the University of Cambridge. His research focuses on Algebraic and Geometric Topology, Homotopical Algebra, Algebraic K-theory, and Category Theory. He has organized numerous conferences, including the 2025 Derived Representation Theory and Triangulated Categories conference in Thessaloniki. His teaching spans advanced courses in Linear Algebra, Algebraic Topology, and seminars on Homotopy Type Theory and Koszul duality.
Research interests include cobordism categories, higher category theory, and applications of homotopical methods. His recent preprints explore parametrized scissors congruence K-theory and bounded cohomology spectral sequences. Supervision includes ongoing PhD students Nikita Müller and Fernando Yamauti, alongside completed theses on topics like Brown representability and model category structures.
