George Turcu

George Turcu is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Bowling Green State University (2013), an M.A. from the same institution (2005), and a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of Bucharest (1999). His research focuses on hypercyclic operators, as evidenced by his dissertation under advisor Kit Chan titled "Hypercyclic Extensions Of Bounded Linear Operators". He is actively involved in innovative teaching methods, particularly inquiry-based learning.

Teaching & Engagement: Teaches calculus sequences, trigonometry, and foundational mathematics courses at UL Lafayette, including Honors versions. Instructs UNIV100 proof-based courses without prerequisites. Organizes the Math Club and Monthly Math Challenge.

Research & Outreach: Explores operator theory and pedagogical strategies.曾 semi-professionally played poker and created/hosted a 12-episode TV show integrating poker, probability, and statistics. Enjoys fountain pens and gaming (League of Legends).
