About
Geoffrey M. Geise is Associate Professor at University of Virginia with joint appointments in Chemical Engineering and Materials Science. He directs research on polymer membranes for water purification and energy applications.
Education: B.S. from Pennsylvania State University (2007), M.S.E. (2010) and Ph.D. (2012) from University of Texas at Austin.
Research focuses on fundamental transport mechanisms in polymers for desalination membranes, ion-specific separations, redox flow batteries, and microwave dielectric spectroscopy. Current projects address global water scarcity and clean energy needs through advanced membrane engineering.
Awards: NSF CAREER Award (2018), multiple best paper recognitions, and teaching awards including Hartfield Excellence in Teaching Award (2019).
