Gary Altman is an Associate Professor at the Department of Psychiatry within the Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba. He serves as Associate Head for the Section of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and as Service Chief for the Anxiety Disorders Service for Children and Youth at the Health Sciences Centre. His work spans clinical, educational, and administrative domains.

Dr. Altman specializes in childhood anxiety disorders, with research and clinical interests encompassing Tourette’s disorder, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and cognitive behavioral therapy. He collaborates on investigative projects in these areas.
His leadership roles include membership in the Canadian Psychiatric Association, directorship at the Canadian Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and participation in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons’ Child and Adolescent Psychiatry subspecialty committee.
