About
Professor Fiona Simpson leads cancer therapy research at the Frazer Institute, University of Queensland. Her laboratory investigates endocytosis mechanisms to improve antibody-based cancer therapies, focusing on EGFR trafficking in squamous cell carcinoma. Current clinical collaborations translate findings into therapeutic protocols at Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Publications span cancer metastasis mechanisms, fibroblast activation in pancreatic cancer, and immune regulation in bladder cancer. Recent work identifies novel biomarkers and therapeutic resistance pathways in epithelial cancers.
Research supervision includes PhD candidates in surgery and pathology. Laboratory techniques include in vivo modeling, molecular characterization, and clinical sample analysis to bridge basic science with therapeutic applications.
