About
Associate Professor Graham Leggatt leads the Skin Cancer Immunotherapy group at the University of Queensland's Frazer Institute with a joint appointment in the School of Biomedical Sciences. His research focuses on tumor immunology, particularly CD8 T cell responses in skin cancers and developing novel immunotherapies. With over 105 publications, Dr. Leggatt investigates mechanisms of immune tolerance in melanoma and squamous cell carcinoma, exploring combination therapies targeting tumor microenvironments.
His recent work examines cytokine networks in cancer progression, metabolic reprogramming in lymphoma, and viral oncoprotein effects on antigen presentation. Research integrates molecular biology techniques with preclinical models to evaluate immunomodulatory antibodies and nanoparticle-based vaccines. Dr. Leggatt collaborates extensively within UQ's epithelial cancer research network and contributes to teaching through part-time lecturing.
