Dr Fernanda Zamboni is a postdoctoral research fellow at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), affiliated with the Centre for Biomedical Technologies and the Translational Research Institute (TRI). She holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Limerick (2021), where she was supported by the Irish Research Council Postgraduate Scholarship and an ERASMUS+ Traineeship grant. Her postdoctoral research (2021–2023) included collaboration with the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dr Zamboni specializes in biomaterials, tissue engineering, and immunomodulation, with a focus on hyaluronic acid-based composites and antimicrobial polymers. She has authored 19 research articles and 4 book chapters, accumulating over 600 citations and a H-index of 14. Her work has been recognized with 2 conference prizes and 39 abstract presentations.

Her recent studies explore hydrothermal processing of carrageenan for tissue engineering and electrical stimulation in musculoskeletal regeneration. She also investigates curcumin-loaded bioinks for in situ immunoregulation.
