Fernanda Zamboni

Dr. Fernanda Zamboni is an Assistant Professor in the School of Engineering at the University of Limerick, appointed in July 2025. She holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering and maintains active research in biomaterials and tissue engineering.

Her academic credentials include:

• PhD in Biomedical Engineering from University of Limerick (awarded August 2021)
• Master's in Biomedical Device Materials from University of Limerick (awarded January 2016) with First-Class Honours
• Bachelor's in Pharmacy from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil (awarded July 2014)

Her research focuses on biomaterials development for medical applications, particularly polymer-based systems and drug delivery devices. This work directly supports UN Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through innovations in biomedical engineering. International collaborations span Portugal's University of Minho (I3B Research Group), Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Queensland University of Technology.
