Ezra Markowitz

Ezra Markowitz is an Associate Professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, affiliated with the School of Earth and Sustainability and the Department of Environmental Conservation. His work focuses on applying behavioral and communication sciences to environmental decision-making and sustainability research.

• Education: Ph.D. and M.S. in Environmental Sciences from the University of Oregon; B.A. in Psychology from Vassar College.

Research Interests: Ezra investigates the psychological, social, and contextual factors shaping individual and collective environmental decisions, emphasizing tradeoffs and conflicting priorities. His research bridges behavioral science with conservation and sustainability policy.
