Ewa Rytel

Ewa Rytel is a Lecturer at the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk, specifically within Department IV focused on Choral Conducting, Church Music, Artistic Education, Rhythmics and Jazz. She has been teaching organ and piano at the institution since 2005 while also serving as an accompanist.

Dr. Rytel specializes in organ and piano performance with particular expertise in Romantic music. Her research interests center around performing and recording previously unknown musical works, especially from the Romantic period. She has made significant contributions to musicology through her recordings of world premieres that have brought obscure compositions to light.

Her notable achievement includes winning a prestigious one-year artistic scholarship from the Fryderyk Chopin Society in Warsaw following a piano competition in 1990. This recognition helped launch her career as a performing artist and educator.

As a performing artist, Dr. Rytel regularly appears as both soloist and chamber musician. She has established a significant discography with 11 CDs released through the Acte Préalable label, all featuring Romantic music that represents world premiere recordings of previously unrecorded works.

Dr. Rytel has enhanced her expertise through participation in master classes with renowned organists including H. Vogel, D. Roth, and A. Schoof, as well as piano courses with A. Jasiński, A. Tatarski, and J. Marchwiński. Her educational background includes studies at the Instrumental Department of the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk under Professor Andrzej Artykiewicz for piano and Professor Bogusław Grabowski for organ.
