Eric Thibodeaux-Thompson is a Professor and Director of Theatre at the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) Department of Art, Music, and Theatre. Over 23 years, he has directed 27 UIS Theatre productions, including Christopher Durang's VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE (2025) and Larissa FastHorse's THE THANKSGIVING PLAY (2023).

He completed advanced Shakespearean voice workshops with Patsy Rodenburg (2015-2022) and serves as an Associate Editor for The Player's Journal. His peer-reviewed performance/book reviews appear in The Baylor Journal of Theatre and Performance, Theatre Topics, and Theatre History Studies (2020). Awards include KCACTF directing honors (2014, 2024) and ITA's 2008 Award of Excellence. As Director of Theatre at UIS, he continues to shape academic and artistic programs.
