Cheryl Sam Shelton

Cheryl Sam Shelton serves as an Adjunct Instructor of Theatre in the Dance & Theatre Arts department at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, joining the faculty in Fall 2021. A professional actress with extensive credits across film, television, and stage, she integrates her industry experience into teaching at her alma mater.

Her academic foundation includes:

• Bachelor of Fine Arts from University of Louisiana at Lafayette
• Master of Arts in Theatre from Regent University

Shelton specializes in performance techniques spanning classical works like A Midsummer Night's Dream and contemporary theater including Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. Her expertise encompasses character development, stage presence, and dramatic interpretation honed through roles such as Snug, Cassandra, and Lena 'Mama' Younger in A Raisin in the Sun.
