Emma Tumilty

Emma Tumilty is Assistant Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Bioethics and Health Humanities at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), holding the Hobby Family Professorship in Medical Humanities. She is also affiliated with the Institute for Translational Science, the Centre for Addiction Sciences and Therapeutics, and Houston Methodist's Patient Engagement, Diversity and Education Research Laboratory.

Her research employs feminist, community-engaged approaches to examine justice and access issues in healthcare and research. Key areas include:

• Ethical frameworks for psychedelic therapy and AI in healthcare
• Community-based participatory research methodologies
• Health equity and vulnerable populations
• Institutional ethics consultation practices
